Catalina 27

Our SeaQuin IV (ex. Gunnboat, ex. Paloma III), hull number 1432, is one of over 5000 Catalina 27's built since the 1970's. Our boat is a 1974 model built near Vancouver BC under licence to Catalina Yachts in California. Some of the technical data for a Catalina 27 standard rig are:are:

The next two pictures are of a new design (or at least new to me) of a bracket to mount an outboard on a 1974 C27.
The motor as you can see still awaits mounting its new throne.
As most of you know the newer 4 stroke out boards do not fit in the cut out on older C27 models.
The idea of this bracket is to allow it to sit further back and be tilted up and down as the older ones were without major modification to the transom.
Boat is just back in the water and owner likes it. Made by "Liquid Metal" in Sidney, BC, approximate cost $400.00 Canadian
