My Visit to Ajijic (Ah-he-heek) Mexico
December 28, 2001 to January 7th, 2002

Yes, I finally got a chance to get down to visit my good friend (and second mother) Bert in Ajijic, Mexico. I had a wonderful time and was treated like royalty. Fresh grapefruit off the tree in the backyard for breakfast; fresh squeezed orange juice for my screwdrivers and lime for my margarittas. Ah...what a way to live.

Ajijic is a picturesque village on Lake Chapala in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is near the huge city of Guadaljara, but another world totally from it's hustle and bustle.

Here are some pictures of my trip. Many, many thanks to Bert, Heather, Ray, Marlene, Mary, Pat, Terry, Jill and everyone else who made me feel so welcome.

First, some pictures of Bert's house, the area nearby
and the village of Ajijic

Bert lives in a picturesque neighbourhood of La Florestta, lots of wonderful Spanish style houses tucked behind walls. While we were out walking Bernie (the dog) each morning we would be sure to take a peak inside any properties that had their gates open!
